- The group is privately owned by a Jordanian family, founded in 1974 with its main office located in Amman, Jordan. It started with the trade of building materials in the Middle East and some European markets.
- In the year 1977, the group started its activities in the building materials field and the trade of grains and sugar in Jordan, some Gulf countries, Sudan and the United States of America.
- In 1979, the group invested in the retail of foodstuffs and clothing, and it established an atelier for manufacturing eastern clothing.
- In 1979, the group introduced in Jordan a modern agricultural system and modern and developed irrigation systems with green houses, in cooperation with French and Italian companies.
- In 1979, GAI carried out the establishment of a company in the United States in cooperation with US companies, for the storage of grains and its trade in the Middle East.
- In 1980, the group started transportation activities in Jordan, by standard trucks, cooled trucks and tippers in cooperation with German, French Italian and Greek companies. This project became one of the best in its market throughout the region.
- In 1981, the group started its industrial activities through the production of Polystyrene in Jordan. According to BASF Chemicals report, the factory was rated to be number one internationally, and thereafter the group established several factories in the region for the production of polystyrene, recycling of plastic wastes, composition and coating of gold and other types of metals. The group also started with the re-manufacturing of returning computer materials in Jordan and abroad.
- In 1982, the group started residential construction by using a new building system (ISO Housing). It also executed and financed several housing, educational and industrial projects in France, Germany and the United States. Hence in the year 1985 it started its activities in the same field in Jordan.
- In 1987, the group started with other partners the establishment of the first retail commercial complex (Safeway Jordan).
- In the year 1992, the group established a specialized carrier in Sudan, for the transfer and distribution of oil derivatives inside Sudan.
- In 1993, the group entered into the field of satellite communications, and carried out in cooperation with the Lockheed Martin Company the development of the satellite communication system (SATFONE).
- In the year 1995, the group entered into a partnership agreement with the Conrad Hilton Group in the Middle East for the establishment of a number of hotels in the region.
- In 1995, the group established an independent political Newspaper in the Palestinian territories/Jerusalem.
- In 1998, the Group started manufacturing Compact Discs (CD’s) and entered the International technologies field (HI TECH), to become a pioneer in this industry in the Arab world.
- In 1999, the Group established with European investors and on top the EADS Group and our company, a telecommunications system (EPOS). The Group’s share investment reached 40% in this project, with the goal of providing a telecommunications infrastructure, for land phones, mobiles, facsimiles and internet requirements. Hence providing these services in major cities, the countryside, villages and remote areas around the world.
- This in addition to commercial activities in different domains on the Arab world level and the international level.
- There are more than 480 employees working within this Group, and 1200 employees working indirectly with the Group.
